The Rain network does not currently support any USSD codes for checking your airtime or data balance[1]. This means you cannot use a USSD short code (such as those available on Vodacom, MTN, or Cell C) to check your Rain balance.
To check your balance on Rain, you can use these alternative methods:
- Send an SMS: Send the word “balance” to 136. You will receive a reply with your current balance[2].
- Rain App: Log in to the my rain app to view your data, SMS, and voice balances[2].
- Rain Online Portal: Sign in to your account at rain.co.za or raingo.co.za to view your balances directly on your profile page[2].
If you attempt to use traditional USSD balance check codes with your Rain SIM, you will find that they are not supported[1].
