How do I check my UIF amount?
Log onto https://ufiling.labour.gov.za/uif/.
- Click on check my balance.
- Follow the instructions as they appear on your screen.
- Enter the Captcha number displayed on the screen.
- Then proceed to enter your UIF Reference Number.
How can I claim my UIF money?
If you want to claim from the UIF you need to go to your nearest Labour Office or register and claim online. There you will be asked to sign the unemployment register. You will be told when you need to come back and sign the register again.
How long does UIF first payment take?

Keep all these documents in a safe place as you will need them every time you are due for a UIF payment. This whole process can take up to three hours. Your first payment will be paid into your bank account within two to four days after you have signed the register.
