MTN call barring allows you to block or unblock specific types of calls directly via USSD codes. The default PIN for these operations is usually 0000, unless you have changed it.
To activate or deactivate call barring on your MTN line, use the following USSD codes:
- Block all outgoing calls: Dial
*33*0000#to activate,#33*0000#to deactivate. Check status with*#33#[1]. - Block all incoming calls: Dial
*35*0000#to activate,#35*0000#to deactivate. Check status with*#35#[1]. - Block all outgoing international calls: Dial
*331*0000#to activate,#331*0000#to deactivate. Check status with*#331#[1]. - Block outgoing international calls (except to home country): Dial
*332*0000#to activate,#332*0000#to deactivate. Check status with*#332#[1].
To change the default call barring PIN (if needed), dial *03*330*OldPIN*NewPIN*NewPIN#[3].
You can also manage MTN call barring via the MyMTN App:
- Open the app, go to Menu > My Profile, input OTP, and select “Call Barring” or “Unbar My Number”[1].
Note: If any of the USSD codes stop working, try managing call barring from your phone settings or via the MyMTN App, or contact MTN customer support[5][6].
